Civic Alliance presented awards for the three best journalistic stories on the everyday challenges and issues faced by members of the Roma and Egyptian (RE) community in Montenegro. The competition that was opened until September 25, 2025, received fifteen submissions. The diversity and quality of the entries reflect a high level of professional and social commitment by journalists to investigating the problems and challenges faced by the Roma and Egyptian communities.
The awards for the best journalistic stories were presented as follows:
- I Prize to Aneta Durović for the broadcast/story “I Went to a Marriage Rehearsal: Choosing Between Escape and an Arranged Marriage in Montenegro”, published on the Radio Free Europe portal.

Civic Alliance expresses its gratitude to all participants in the competition. It emphasizes that it will continue to work diligently to promote the rights of Roma and Egyptians, as well as their full social integration.
We congratulate all the award winners and look forward to future projects that will contribute to the recognition and strengthening of the Roma and Egyptian communities in Montenegro.
The competition was organized as part of the project “REal Inclusion: Through Education and Understanding to Visibility, Rights, and Participation of the RE Community in Public Life”, implemented by Civic Alliance with the support of the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights.
