During the past weekend in Plav, a cultural exchange was organized involving 20 high school students from Herceg Novi and Plav, to promote interculturalism and strengthen solidarity among young people from different parts of Montenegro.
The programme included students from the Secondary School “Ivan Goran Kovačević” and the Secondary School “Bećo Bašić”, who, through interactive workshops, lectures, and visits to cultural and historical sites, had the opportunity to expand their knowledge of culture and interculturalism, the role of youth in peacebuilding in multiethnic communities, as well as the importance of everyday coexistence and mutual understanding among peers.
Such activities help reduce prejudice, strengthen tolerance, and encourage open dialogue among young people from different regions of Montenegro, creating space for new friendships, understanding, and long-term cooperation.
The exchange was implemented as part of the project “Youth Promise for Peace”, carried out by the Civic Alliance with the support of the “RYCOgnizing YPS” programme, implemented by the Regional Youth Cooperation Office, with the support of German Development Cooperation.
