The event took place at the EU Info center.
This is the seventh year in a row for the „Roma Pride” to take part across the Europe. This year’s „Roma Pride” takes place in ten European countries. The initiative that gathers Roma and non-Roma population is political and cultural platform that directs attention on problems Roms community faces with all over Europe. This is also the opportunity to manifest and share the wealth of Roma culture and contribution to Roma European history.
In Montenegro, during the “Live Library” citizens had the opportunity to talk to Roma and hear about discrimination they had faced with, their successes, goals and needs. The goal of this activity was to reduce ethnical distance and prejudices that are emphasized in our society. Neighbors, cooperators, friends usually don’t know anything about experiences their Roma neighbors, cooperators and friends faced so, such meetings are good opportunity to communicate. Participants at the event assessed it was important to organize more similar activities.
This “Roma Pride” takes place in Montenegro, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Macedonia, Moldavia, Netherlands, and Ukraine.
