Program Director of the Civic Alliance, Milan Radović, and the President of the Judicial Council, Vesna Simović – Zvicer, signed today the Memorandum of Cooperation between Judicial Council and Civic Alliance, which regulates mutual cooperation aimed at increasing the transparency and accountability of judiciary in Montenegro.

The purpose of Memorandum is to contribute to increasing the public’s trust in the work of Judicial Council through the active approach of both parties, but also to the improvement of cooperation between judicial system and NGO sector in Montenegro.

“Everything that means increasing the level of professionalism, efficiency and integrity of judges, which means creating instruments between civil society organizations and judicial authorities, will be of exceptional mutual benefit and will lead to strengthening the independence, impartiality and responsibility of judiciary, which is the foundation of the rule of law and European values to which Montenegro strives, and what its citizens rightly expect.” said President of judicial Concil Simović-Zvicer.

Milan Radović pointed out the importance of orderly, regular and constructive communication between Judicial Council and NGO sector.

Among other things, the memorandum will contribute to more effective implementation of activities of the project “No Impunity for Breach and Violation of Human Rights in Montenegro”, financed by the European Delegation in Montenegro.
