NGO Civic Alliance is pleased to invite you to attend the event we are organizing on the occasion of World Refugee Day, in cooperation with the municipality of Bar. The event will take place on 21 June, starting at 7:00 p.m. on the plateau of King Nikola’s Castle in Bar.
The event will be held as part of World Refugee Day as a joint program with the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Montenegro, which represents a leading national project initiative to support asylum seekers, refugees, displaced and internally displaced persons and persons at risk of statelessness.
With this event, we want to point to mass and forced displacements due to war conflicts, political persecutions and economic disturbances, while environmental problems are increasingly present among the causes. The current situation and various conflicts at a global level, unfortunately, force people to leave their homes and seek refuge in other parts of the world, and with this event, we want to point out the importance of their protection and their rights as refugees.
The program will be officially opened by Radovan Popović, Director General of the Directorate for Administrative Affairs, Citizenship and Foreigners in the Ministry of the Interior, Jean Yves Bouchardi, Head of the UNHCR office, Damir Rašketić, Vice President of the Municipality of Bar, and Milan Radović, Program Director of the Civic Alliance. The event will also include various creative and artistic performances of our youngest fellow citizens, and an exhibition of works by Ukrainian children participating in the VI international art festival MALYUY.UA organized by the association for the development of international relations ADRUM. This will give a special importance to the event.
Representatives of the Embassy of Ukraine in Montenegro, the municipality of Bar and other local institutions and non-governmental organizations dealing with the system of international and temporary protection will also attend the marking of the World Refugee Day.
