Youth Initiative for Human Rights in Montenegro, which is the member of nongovernmental foundation Civic Alliance, organized the conference, in the frame of the regional project “Regional Association for Exchange of Youth”, supported by the European Commission.
Mr Igor Lukšić, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and Mr Suljo Mustafić, Vice President of the Parliament of Montenegro opened today’s conference.
Speakers at the panel named “Importance of cooperation of youth in the post-conflict region, by the model of French-German Youth Office”, were H.E. Veronique Brumeaux, Ambassador of France in Montenegro, H.E. Gudrun Elisabeth Steinacker, Ambassador of Germany in Montenegro and Igor Vušurović from Directorate for Youth and Sport.
Mr Frank Moraweitz, representative of French-German Youth Office in Berlin and representatives of NGO sector from Montengro, Mr Igor Milosevic from NGO ZID and Jasmina Lazović, Program Coordinator in Youth Initiative for Human Rights in Belgrade, spoke about the models of institutionalization of regional programs for youth at the Western Balkan, the role of civil society in regional youth exchange in programs and about cooperation of youth.
Youth wing of political parties from Montenegro also attended the conference. After the working part at the Faculty of Political Sciences, working lunch with presidents of youth wing of political parties and prominent youth organizations took place.
All representatives of youth wing of political parties accepted the principles contained in the Declaration on necessity of establishing of Regional Youth Office for Western Balkan and emphasized they would give their maximum and contribution to implementation of this idea, assessing today’s conference as the great moment that would give us energy and connect us to act jointly on that occasion.
