Aleksandra Dubak

Project coordinator

Aleksandra Dubak is from Podgorica. She graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Montenegro. During her student days, she was an active member of ELSA, an international organization of law students. After that, in 2018, he started working at the Youth Initiative for Human Rights, where he works in the field of dealing with the past and working with young people.

In 2019, the Civil Alliance began working on the project of providing free legal assistance to asylum seekers and refugees, and after two years worked as the coordinator of the same project. Part of the job included visiting and monitoring the situation at the borders, that is, the migrant route that passes through Montenegro.

Since the beginning of working with migrants and refugees, he has been monitoring the situation regarding human trafficking. She also coordinated regional and national projects in the field of human and minority rights, youth rights, refugee and asylum seeker rights.

She assisted in projects related to the work of the judiciary in Montenegro, conducting surveys among judges, monitoring the courts regarding respect for the right to a fair trial and prosecution.

She worked on projects concerning the use of minority languages in official use. She carried out media monitoring of reporting on the EU integration process, monitoring of closed institutions where persons deprived of their liberty are located and the conditions in which they reside, as well as monitoring of parliamentary committees for human rights and European integration.

She is the author and co-author of reports concerning the use of minority languages, detention of migrants in Montenegro, war crimes committed on the territory of Montenegro during the 90s, European integration and others.

She attended the School of Human Rights, School of Business Management, School of Political Studies, as well as numerous seminars in the field of human rights and media, training in the field of asylum and migration, etc.

From 2021, she is assigned to the position of program coordinator for human rights and justice in the Civic Alliance.

She was a member of the working group for the negotiation chapter 24 from September 2019 as a representative of the NF “Civil Alliance” and the Council for the Rule of Law.

He speaks English fluently. He likes to spend his free time walking around coastal towns. He likes traveling. She is married to Milenko, with whom she has a daughter Mia.
