The Civic Alliance successfully implemented a two-day training for councilors from women’s councilor clubs on the topic “Leadership, advocacy of gender equality and examples and best practices in the implementation of measures for the implementation of gender policies.”
During the training, councilors from Bijelo Polje, Ulcinj, Nikšić, Podgorica and Bar were discussed by experienced lecturers on topics such as leadership in politics, public speaking and the promotion of gender equality in political campaigns, as well as encouraging gender equality through planning, advocacy and policy implementation.
A very important part of the training was related to the presentation of examples and best practices in the implementation of measures for the implementation of gender policies. Lecturers Boris Mugoša, Branka Bošnjak, Vesna Pavićević, Hadixha Gjoni, Jelena Mitrović and Lidija Brnović addressed the participants of the event.
One of the most important conclusions of the event is that it is necessary to prepare as soon as possible a platform on the cooperation of women’s councilor clubs that have been formed so far, thus starting the creation of a network of women’s councilor clubs. By signing the cooperation platform, all newly formed women’s councilor clubs will have the opportunity to access the network of women’s councilor clubs.
We invite councilors from other municipalities in Montenegro to join the process of forming such clubs as soon as possible, and in that process they will have the support of the Civic Alliance, as well as colleagues from other municipalities that have already formed women’s clubs.
The activity was realized as part of the project “Platform for achieving gender equality”, which is supported by the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights.
