Today in the Community Center in Konik Camp, CA organized a first aid workshop for representatives of residential buildings, held by a first aid instructor of the Montenegrin Red Cross. This training was organized as part of the joint program of the European Union and the Council of Europe ROMACTED, where CA is a supporting organization in Konik Camp. In addition, the workshop was implemented in cooperation with the Capital City – Office for Roma and Egyptians, who are our partners in the ROMACTED program.
As our activities in Konik Camp are focused on the Roma and Egyptian communities and cooperation with competent institutions, in order to improve the maintenance of housing facilities and overall living conditions, a portion of our activities is related to safety. The acquired first aid knowledge and skills are very important, since the workshop participants learned how to react in situations that could occur in everyday life, when it is necessary to provide help and sometimes even save a family member or neighbor’s life. The topics, among others, included reacting in the case of loss of consciousness, providing cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, burns, bleeding, snakebite, electric shock, etc. The workshop was very interesting and interactive, and those most interested will have the opportunity to attend training on this topic in September.
We would like to thank the Red Cross of Montenegro and their coordinator Igor Jokanović for excellent cooperation.
