Participants of School of Political Studies at the World Forum for Democracy 2025

A group of participants from the XXIII generation of the School of Political Studies took part in the World Forum for Democracy (WFD) held in Strasbourg from November 5 to 7, 2025, organized by the Council of Europe.

This year’s Forum was dedicated to the role of quality journalism, culture, and civic engagement in strengthening democratic resilience. Participants had the opportunity to hear and exchange views on ways to support independent media, protect artistic freedom, and rebuild citizens’ trust through active participation and deliberative processes.

During the second day of the Forum, the participants attended sessions focused on innovative youth initiatives, the impact of artificial intelligence on democracy, the role of culture and art in strengthening democratic values, as well as new forms of civic education and participation.

During their stay in Strasbourg, the participants visited the European Court of Human Rights, where they met with the Court’s Vice-President, Ivana Jelić, to discuss current challenges in the field of human rights, the Court’s practices, and the institution’s role in safeguarding European democratic standards.

The participants of the School of Political Studies also had the opportunity to meet with the Permanent Representative of Montenegro to the Council of Europe, Ambassador Božidarka Krunić, who briefed them on the mission’s priorities, the work of the Council of Europe, and the ongoing processes in which Montenegro is actively involved.
