The Civic Alliance and the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development, and Northern Development have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, establishing a partnership framework for joint action in the fields of environmental protection and sustainable development, with a particular focus on contributing to Montenegro’s EU integration process through the fulfilment of obligations under Chapter 27 – Environment and Climate Change.
The Memorandum recognizes the importance of cooperation between institutions and civil society to ensure more efficient implementation of measures defined by the Roadmap for meeting the closing benchmarks under Chapter 27, as well as the need to strengthen the capacities of decision-makers and other relevant stakeholders in this area.
The Civic Alliance will make a particular contribution through its long-standing programmes and networks, including the School of Political Studies, the Green Parliamentary Group, the network of women councillors’ clubs, and the Academy for Women in Politics, which will serve as platforms for education, dialogue, and the development of public policies in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development.
Additional focus will be placed on advancing gender equality and strengthening women’s participation in decision-making processes, particularly in areas related to environmental protection and sustainable development.
