Exhibition “Minority Communities Through the Lens of Youth” Opened

The Civic Alliance today opened the photo exhibition “Minority Communities Through the Lens of Youth” at the Civic House, presenting young people’s perspectives on the identity of minority communities in Montenegro and the social context in which they live.

The exhibition was opened by Milan Radović, Programme Director of the Civic Alliance, and Sokolj Beganaj, representative of the Directorate for the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Minority Peoples and Other Minority National Communities within the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights.

Beganaj emphasized that the authors have shown that minority rights are not an abstract concept, but a living reality reflected in everyday relationships, culture, customs, and community values. He pointed out that through their work, young people remind us that a democratic society is built through mutual respect and appreciation of diversity.

Kristina Gojčaj, Project Associate at the Civic Alliance, presented to attendees the significance of the exhibition, as well as the process of its creation, from the selection of young participants, through training and mentorship, to the production of photographic works.

The exhibition will remain open at the Civic House until February 9, after which it will be displayed in Ulcinj on February 22.

The exhibition “Minority Communities Through the Lens of Youth” was implemented as part of the project “Minority Rights Through the Lens of Youth”, with the support of the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights.
